We are excited to be hosting our Annual Chamber Car Show and Drag Race event weekend on Friday and Saturday, July 10th and 11th, 2020 (pending local and county approval of events post COVID-19 restrictions between now and then).
FRIDAY NIGHT ‘PARTY IN THE PARK’: The Friday night ’Party in the Park’ event will be held at the Washington Street Park from 5:00 P.M.-10:00 P.M. We have a dynamic evening planned with a beer garden, live entertainment featuring The Country Highway Band and other talented guests. Food Vendors and a Picnic on Washington Street will be available for family fun and entertainment. Please follow social distancing recommendations.
BURN OUT: We are featuring a ‘LOCAL BURN OUT’ from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. so if you have the power, come out and show us! This event is Sponsored by Kansasland Tire, and is FREE to participants. The winner receives a $25 prize for the best spectacle. (Smokin!!!!)
LATE NIGHT BIKE RIDE!! New this year! Come join the community in a late-night bicycle ride! Friday July 10th from 10:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. Downtown at the Courthouse Square! Open to ALL ages and types of bicycles! FREE Popcorn, Water, Prizes and much more! See a wonderful display of Police Cars, Fire Trucks, Big Trucks, all on display to enjoy the ride! Sponsored by the Norton Police Department and the Norton County Attorney’s Office.
CAR SHOW SATURDAY: Last year we had 99 cars registered, so we hope we have a good turnout this year, too. The cars start lining up at 8:00 A.M. and the awards will be given out at 1:15 P.M. Music & Sound System by The Three Jacks. Come down to the County Courthouse Square and enjoy a day of visual excitement looking at classic cars, hot-rods, motorcycles, and tractors. You won’t want to miss our first event of the year.
FREE SATURDAY MOVIE: Join us at 10:00 A.M. for a FREE Movie and Popcorn Sponsored by Solutions North Bank! The movie featured this year will be Days of Thunder starring Tom Cruise and a star studded cast.
DRAG RACES SATURDAY AT 2:00 P.M. $20 Per Car to Race, Norton Municipal Airport. Immediately following the Car Show Awards; $5 for spectators; 10 yrs. and under are FREE if accompanied by an adult. NOTE: Drivers must be 21 years or older. Must be 18 years or older to enter the pit area. Car must be tagged and insured.
ANNOUNCEMENT TO OUR 2019 SPONSORS: The Chamber knows this has been a tough year. We are going to honor your 2019 sponsorship THIS YEAR TOO with NO additional sponsorship money due.
