The Norton County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Dispatcher. Successful candidate must have computer knowledge and experience, with good communication skills. Candidate must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, with no felony or certain misdemeanor convictions. Dispatchers work an 8 hour shift which, when full staffed, will be 6 days on and 3 days off. Coverage of other shifts will be required at certain times. Dispatch duties include but not limited to computer use in dispatch systems, telecommunications, and some jail responsibilities. Benefits include single BCBS Insurance, Dental, Optometry, paid vacation and sick days, Holiday pay and KPERS Retirement plan. Starting wage is $14.00 per hour and some overtime will be required.
